Abstract
Cardiovascular mortality is increased in patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis, having a two-fold higher prevalence of ischemic disease than controls. Non-ischemic cardiac manifestations such as conduction disorders, arrhythmias, valvulopathies, diastolic dysfunction and involvement of the ascending aorta (aortitis) have been reported with a lower incidence in Spondyloarthritis. The case of a patient diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis who presented an episode of atrial fibrillation with hemodynamic decompensation ten hours after receiving a dose of Infliximab is reported.
